Food Bank of Alaska believes that no one deserves to be hungry. Since 1979,
we have been securing donated food for nonprofit agencies to distribute to
hungry Alaskans.

Help Feed Hungry Alaskans! This coming holiday season, help feed hungry Alaskans by contributing to one of the events being held for Food Bank of Alaska. Due to the economic hardships our country is facing, many families and individuals have to make tough financial decisions. In some cases this includes whether to buy food or fuel to get to work; whether to buy food or medicine. These choices are especially tough during a time that is supposed to be one of celebration. Director's Diary Hungry Americans are no longer them – hungry Americans are us. For years, USDA statistics have demonstrated that approximately 9% of Americans receive benefits from the food stamp program. That’s a lot of people – about 27,000,000 Americans. This number simultaneously makes my blood boil that so many of our neighbors need assistance feeding their families – and makes me proud of our country for taking care of our neighbors. More
